“I love how I look, my clothes are fitting better, but why haven’t I lost any weight?”
Hands up if you have ever felt pretty good, looking good but then jumped on the scales only to be bummed by the number jumping back up at you?
With New Year upon us, we know that the resolution to get fit and drop “x”kg is a common one. We also know we’ve have clients bummed with their scales but then absolutely thrilled by the fact their measurements are down, their clothes fit better and their pictures look AMAZING!
We’re hear to save you some heartache if you’re one of those people who is fixated on a special number staring back at you. For some there is an extreme importance placed on the scales, so much so that they miss the forest through the tress. That is, they are looking & feeling better, gone down a clothing size or two, they’re training hard, so why then does body weight matter so much?
If body weight stresses you out too much, look to other ways to track your progress. At PPT we use the scales as one of the tools for us to gather information on client progress. Really it’s only one piece of a much larger puzzle. We also take photos and measurements and often these two tools give us more information. We’ve already shown you above the amazing difference that “only 3 kilos” can really be, and here’s a few more. These are REAL CLIENTS, some weighing more, others weighing the same, all of them looking leaner and fitter!
The scales can be a tricky measuring tool, they go up and down, and worse of all if you don’t understand WHY, they can have a negative impact on your frame of mind. We’ve tried to explain it for you in more detail in the video below a cut down on scale fluctuations taken from a presentation Sean put together to help make sense of this for you all.
